Poor little neglected blog.
I tried to read Ulysses four times but didn't get very far. I've been reading some wonderful books and some okay ones, none of which are on the Big Read list. I believe I'll give Joyce a pass for now and move on to something from the list which sounds like a bit more fun. More to come!
I have the same problem. I had Ulysses on my phone for a year but didn't enjoy. I'm reading Home To Harlem by Claude McKay, I think I be finished over this weekend.
ReplyDeleteSome books may be classics, but other appeal to the reader in other ways. For example Home To Harlem is like a interesting film which you watch not because the critics say its good. But because you enjoy it. Not too heavy just good because the story appeals to you.
