Book Forty - Far From The Madding Crowd - Part Two

About 2/3 of the way though and I do love this book. Mr Thomas Hardy sure does know people. His characters could be people that I know. That's one of my favorite things about Jane Austen! What is there about this work of his that I didn't find in Tess of the d'Urbervilles? No idea. Perhaps I didn't give Tess enough of a chance...

Book Forty - Far FromThe Madding Crowd - Part One

Enjoying this one so far! (I do so love stories about farmers.) Quotage -

It is safer to accept any chance that offers itself, and extemporize a procedure to fit it, than to get a good plan matured and wait for a chance of using  it.

 
So basically, go with the flow, right? Play the hand you're dealt? Take each day as it comes? Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em?
